The strength of Alchemy lies in its complex, both per sound source and global filter configurations. I still get to use all of the third party sound packs which is nice, but thats not what I'm here to discuss. I spent close to $500 for the Camel bundle a few years back, now its free. I think, and always thought, that Alchemy as a VA is very underrated. Logic is a beast and most people don't know it And yes, I also use ES2 a lot, Retro Synth as well and EXS24. I'm definitely thinking of buying Serum for more aggressive sounds and to be more "updated" on new sounds, since most people are using it and so there's more updated sounds out there and when I don't need those sounds I just keep using what comes with Alchemy and also make my own. And there's not a lot of people or companies out there working on packs that are more focused on EDM. My only "problem" with Alchemy is that most presets that come with it are not even close to those that come with synths like Synthmaster, Sylenth, Massive, etc. My main "problem" with Alchemy is not sound design, because I know how to create new sounds and being creative. Used it, but I'm narrowing my choices and Alchemy is definitely the synth I want to use more and more. If you started sound design, Alchemy will accompany you for a long time. I seldom touch my synthmaster which has the most presets that I know.
